"Europe Meets Russia: A Forum for Young Leaders"

Международная конференция "Europe Meets Russia: A Forum for Young Leaders", которая будет проходить с 11 по 16 апреля 2010 в Берлине.

Предстоящая конференция посвящена приоритетам и стратегиям российско-европейских отношений следующего десятилетия. Главной целью её проведения является создание дискуссионной платформы для активных и амбициозных молодых людей из Европы и России, проявляющих активный интерес к российско-европейским отношениям. Данная конференция, официальным языком которой является английский, будет включать в себя лекции и семинары, проводящиеся экспертами в таких областях как политика, наука, частный сектор и гражданское общество. Таким образом, конференция поможет участникам завязать контакты на профессиональном уровне, а также познакомиться с концептом культурной диплолматии и ролью культурного обмена в российско-европейских отношениях.

На предыдущих конференциях „Europe meets Russia“ наш Институт и участники имели честь приветствовать спикеров Дмитрия Молчанова, 3-го секретаря российского посольства в Берлине; Marzenna Guz-Vetter, представителя Европейской комиссии в Берлине; Сергея Журавлёва, вице-директора Русского Дома; Heino von Meyer, директора представительства Организации Экономического Сотрудничества и Развития в Берлине и др.

Europe Meets Russia: A Forum for Young Leaders
Berlin 11th -16th April 2010
Aims
• Discuss the development of European-Russian relations over the past 60 years and probable salient
issues over the coming decade
• Emphasize strategies employed by Russia and Europe towards each other considering the role of
soft power (cultural diplomacy)
• Focus upon the increasing integration of the European Union and the implications of this process
for European-Russian relations
• Examine the European-Russian cooperation in the fields of sustainability, renewable energy and
climate change

Forum Agenda
• One week of lectures, seminars, and workshops lead by heads and representatives of local political
and commercial bodies, academia, and civil society
• The Agenda also includes cultural events, i.e. sightseeing of political and cultural highlights of Berlin
and social activities in the evening

„Europe Meets Russia: A Forum for Young Leaders“
Berlin, 11th - 16th April 2010
The Institute for Cultural Diplomacy is pleased to announce the launch of its third program. The
international conference "Europe Meets Russia: A Forum for Young Leaders" will take
place in Berlin from April 11th – April 16th, 2010. We would like to invite students and young
professionals who are interested in the European-Russian relations to take part in the forthcoming
conference dedicated to the priorities and strategies of the relations between the two entities in the
next decade. Attached you will find the broshure and the flyer with a detailed information about the
event, whereas the text below contains our contact information and useful links.
Europe meets Russia has been designed with the intention of bringing together young individuals
(mid-later stage students or with some young professionals - around 1-2 years experience) so that
they can gain an insight into cultural diplomacy, exchange ideas and experiences, and learn from
influential figures in the given field. Participants will develop contacts on social and professional levels
through the participation of lectures, challenging workshops, and discussions. The Forum aims to
examine the state of the European-Russian relationship today and to consider the role of cultural
exchange in supporting this relationship.
